Aaahhh… summer holidays. One of the perks of being a student at (almost) 30 is to have a three month summer holiday every year. Takes me right back to my childhood and the anticipation that laid before me as June approached. We always begun the summer in the archipelago and a big midsummer celebration. Pickled herring, strawberry cake and flower crowns. The whole thing.
This year we’ll be celebrating midsummer at my sister’s house on Bornholm, and better yet - their new puppy. Counting down the days. I might also stay for a week or so after my boyfriend goes back to Stockholm - again, one of the perks of a real summer holiday.
Moving on,

Did you guys see the Massimo Dutti Studio? Holy smokes, there are some truly great pieces that I would love to get my hands on. I appreciate the mix of office appropriate neutral styles (but with great attention to detail) and the one-of-a-kind pieces like a fringe cape. If I could only have one thing I’d be looking at the trousers, like these wide-leg cream dream pants. Definitely recommend having a look!
My absolute favourite magazine is Milk Magazine and I try to remember to get my hands on their quarterly print magazine as it always provides me with buckets of inspiration. This latest issue features the gorgeous Nami Isackson and it’s safe to say I’m obsessed. Highly recommend reading this Vogue feature to get the inside deets.
One of my favourite read this week was Monica Ainley’s Fashion Proust Questionnaire, taken this time by Lauren Collin (author and writer for the New Yorker)(is there a difference between an author and a writer?).

On Thursday this week I strung a koi fish necklace around my hips and felt like a million bucks and a fashion Einstein. The idea wasn’t novel as I totally stole it from Leandra Medine Cohen, like so many of my other odd but satisfying styling combos. If you want a truly beautiful koi fish necklace like mine, check out my mother’s fabulous jewelry which is all handmade by her. I would get the amethyst if I were you - but maybe that’s just the pisces in me. (I already snagged the citrine).
The friend group - a modern myth?
I’m not part of a friend group. There, I said it. Feels almost cathartic, like I’m admitting some huge scary secret. It’s not that I don’t have friends - I do, and I genuinely love them all in different ways. But I’m not part of a Sex & the City, How I Met Your Mother, F.r.i.e.n.d.s or Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants friend group that stick together, hang out together, brunch together or whatever it is that these groups of tightly knit ride-or-die friends do.
I also want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who read, liked, commented on and shared my post about “the friend group”. I’m absolutely thrilled to have over 2k views on something I wrote!! Imposter syndrome deluxe. No but really, I’m so grateful for this community and all the honesty we share in the comment sections. Vulnerability for the win.
I have now made this post a paid one since I will be closing my more personal posts after a few days, but please know that if there’s ever anything you’re curious to read but you feel like you haven’t got the $$$ - you can always ask for a freebie!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend! Xoxo, Gossip Girl
