Hi! Happy Sunday! I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend and are wrapping things up, excited for something in the week to come. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be excited for the whole week. Just maybe like one or two things? I’m excited for my birthday on Friday, for example. Not excited for the exam on Wednesday, but like also already looking forward to having it be over and done with. What’s up with you – what are you looking forward to?
I spent this past week in a ski resort with my family and boy, was it a test of patience. I’m really happy we went though, as we all love being outside and skiing and doing the outdoorsy things with kids and dogs aplenty. But holy moly. Let’s just say there’s a reason why we move out as we become adults. I’m not doing that again for some time, even though I love my family and we have a really good (and exhausting) time together. You feel me?
My dad sent us a really sweet message when we got home though, saying how this will be a memory for life. *Cries*
Okay so maybe you’ll get tired of hearing about Severance but can we talk about this last episode? I’m so incredibly hooked, even though it’s not nearly as good as season 1 (yet). It’s just so incredibly mysterious and frustrating and weird and engaging. And I love to hate the sterile environments they’re in. And the awkward professionalism between them. And the eerie mood of the outies, too. The fashion is atrocious (although
managed to channel Helly R in the chicest of ways, of course). What do we think is going to happen? Who are we rooting for? And why is it not Mark?
There are 10 weeks left of my half marathon training plan and about 11 or 12 weeks left to the actual race. I gave myself a couple of extra weeks to complete it to be able to eg go on the skiing trip last week and take a week off running. I just freaking love running so much, and honestly I think it’s partly because I’m not really very good at it? Like, of course I do my best and I want to improve but I’m not really hitting any impressive PBs or running insane distances. It just makes me feel really good, calms my mind, unwinds me in a pleasant way and challenges me just enough.
Do I have any runner-readers? Or anyone else who feels this way about a sport/workout/movement they do? I’m really interested in hearing about it!
Okay so I bought a leopard print skirt to wear to dinner on Friday, and although yes technically I bought it with one special occasion in mind, I just feel like I’m going to get so much wear out of this skirt. I got rid of all the satin(ish) skirts I had a while ago, because they were too small for me, and I’ve kind of missed having a flowy skirt to wear out. I do have my pink Acne one but it’s actually not as flowy as you might think and it’s a little bit of an awkward length when you wear it with tights so it’s more of a summer skirt for me. And although leopard is definitely having a big moment now, it never really goes out of style in my closet.

My skin has given up on me. Which it usually does around this time of year, unfortunately. It feels dry and oily at the same time, and don’t get me started on texture. Whatever little make up I try to put on literally rolls off my face in flakes (don’t asks me how) and I still have zits even though everything is crumbier than a croissant? If anyone has ANY tips on what to do to salvage this, I’m all ears. I’m already doing extra hydration, both in skincare and simply drinking water, exfoliating daily (but lightly) and eating well (as usual). Help. Me.
What’s an appropriate timeline for when it’s alright to start dating again and writing about it in a public newsletter? Asking for a friend.
So, what’s the haps with you guys? What are we up to? Who are we dodging? Who are we stalking? What are we shopping? Let’s chat in the comment section.
Love you!!
JULIA! The last episode of Severance left me in shock!!! I am rooting for the sweet Irvin of course, and Mark as well. Only thing I got to say is that the overall show is not rewarding enough for us viewer. For every question raised we have such tiny reveals and other 40 questions raised. I really hope we will understand more at some point!
For skin- slather on aquaphor on clean skin and let it sit for ten minutes, then gently rub your face with a hot washcloth. That’s the best thing for my skin in the winter, but I use prescription strength retinol so my skin gets quite dry.
Severance, omg. I just did a rewatch of season 1 and I’m so absorbed in this universe. I am still on Mark’s side, but feeling more pulled to Milchik and obviously Dylan. I don’t trust outie Burt or Irving. Gah!
