It kind of feels better knowing I’m not the only one struggling with my words, so thanks for sharing! Generally speaking, I don’t really use them everyday but rather as a reference to try and understand why when a certain outfit doesn’t feel “right”. Also it takes courage to ask people around you for input, I love it!
Oh I love this, ty for opening up to unpaid!! I relate hard - def tried to nail down my “three words” at some point during quarantine and felt more confused by the end hahah! Also what a compliment for your style to be called “assured,” I love that! Your BF’s description is so good, I can immediately picture different outfit styles for each of those activities and they do seem to capture some of the different aspects of your style from the pics!! I think I am archipelago brunch sun, and mushroom forest moon, and big city rising 😂😂😂
Hahah omg I love that astro analogy!!! My sister is the best and I'm glad she sees me that way since she's very stylish herself... But I don't feel assured heh
Oh Julia, we are so similar. No matter how much time I put into trying to figure out my style words I always come up lacking. I’ve landed on 3 (relatively) generic words and only lean on them when u feel like I don’t know what to wear. Daily I find it to be… unhelpful? Which makes me think there is something wrong with my approach 😅
Wait have you said what yours are? Well that makes two of us - feeling like we have the wrong approach. Need to keep digging for sure because I definitely feel like there's something there!
Ooh I'm really into those for you though, but yeah it can be really hard to know how to use or translate them into actual styling. And to be honest, most days I'm just taking a jacket and a bag as I head out the door - not really picking and choosing a la Carrie Bradshaw to make sure I tick off my three words

Thank you Selma, and you're definitely not alone. I think you're onto something when it comes to using them more as a reference than a rule!
Love the idea of asking people around you for thoughts on the three words! Will do that too! xx
It was really fun if nothing else!
I was thinking the same what a great idea!

I've landed on Effortless, Elevated and Edge (or contrast). Honestly, I'm glad we both struggle through this.
